主理牧师 Minister in Charge: 张济富牧师 Rev David Tiong
David graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering in 1987. He worked in Singapore and Malaysia for a while before migrating to Australia in 2005.
He left his career as a product manager of an IT company in Australia and went for full time study at Sydney Missionary Bible College in 2011. He graduated from SMBC in 2014 with Bachelor of Theology and begin serving at Carlton Methodist Church (Parramatta Preaching Point). David remained as their pastor when Parramatta Preaching Point was constituted as Redeemer Methodist Church in 2017 until 2022. He joins Carlton Methodist Church in 2023 as their minister-in-charge.
David is married to Hung King Tiong and they have four grown up children: Alan, Calvin, Samuel and Jason. He is passionate about mission and has been to Cambodia, Taiwan, PNG, Solomon Island, South Africa, Zambia and Nepal for short term mission. He is currently the Chairperson of the Board of Mission, Chinese Methodist Church in Australia.
English Pastor: Ps Philip Ng
Philip was born into a Christian family, with two younger brothers, and godly parents who introduced him to God from an early age and modelled of life of love and service to God. After experiencing charismatic healing from fever at the age of 10, He was baptized at the age of 12. He has since served in various roles (Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, Small Group Leader, Ministry Leader, Worship Leader, Treasurer) in a variety of churches in different denominations.
In 2016, he left his corporate career as Business Lead for Online Distribution for a large Insurance company to study at Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS). Returning to Australia in 2020, at the onset of the COVID Pandemic, he completed his Master of Theology (Th.M) remotely, graduating in 2021. He served as Pastoral Intern at Wesley International Congregation from 2020, until he joined Carlton Methodist Church to serve as their English Pastor in Oct 2021.
Philip is passionate about: Expository Preaching; Discipleship that is holistic and integrated for all aspects of Christian life and ministry integration and ‘holding in tension’ some of the more polarising theological positions. He also enjoys boardgames, Late 1990 – Early 2000 movies, bushwalks and swimming.
